I didnt have proper closure, therefore, hearing the song brought me the closure I needed. its best to close the chapter with no guilt, regrets and just forgiveness because I want to move on a new direction clean slate with no baggages and negativity. I actually cried watching this. I had so many dreams and hopes that never happened. I wanted to be a gymnast since I was a toddler, but my mom was too busy as a single mother to see my skills as anything more than me playing around. I also don't think she would've been able to afford it anyway. I realized that wasn't going to happen anymore and so in middle school I fell in love with dancing/singing instead. I would write original songs and practice dance routines with my friends. But a dental surgery that turned out to be malpractice (the statute of limitation passed by the time we realized) left me with crooked teeth, some facial development issues, and a host of other problems. I had body dysmorphia since early childhood, but the surgery and what I subsequently saw in the mirror made the dysmorphia severe. The entire time I faced a dysfunctional and abusive homelife. The physcial and emotional abuse resulted in a case of failure to launch (despite working 2 jobs) because health issues and being made to feel guilty for wanting to leave made me hesistant to live on my own. I escaped into writing/poetry. I would post anonymously on social media because I hated the way I looked too much to post myself. Unfortunately, work and a toxic home life became too much and I lost motivation to keep writing/posting. I was also heartbroken and depressed over a lack of romantic love in my life majority of the time. I felt like a worthless loser. I'm now 33 and I'll never be the world renowned gymnast I wanted to be and maybe not a big musical star either, but for the first time in around 7 years I'll be picking up writing/poetry again. I'm not where I want to be in my life, Im still working on freeing myself and living life on my own terms. But I still have hope. This video just really hit home. Thank you Anson 🙏🏿💜.

When I started listening to you, I won't go into too much detail, but. . . my life was beautiful for a while . . . then it seemed like everything was falling apart. I was having a hard time after the heartbreaking change. And, your songs . . . they were somewhat there for me, having me reflect on my situation a bit.
